|State Rep. Harvey Kenton joined some of his legislative colleagues, Gov. Jack Markell, and Delaware businessmen earlier this month in Milford to announce state grants to spark private business investment.
The second round of grants under the Downtown Development Districts program will provide a total of $3.56 million that is leveraging $38.6 million in private investment. Sixteen projects in Harrington, Milford, Dover, Smyrna, and Wilmington are being undertaken.
The announcement took place at 1 NW Front Street in Milford, the site of a former bank, which is being renovated to host a new Touch of Italy restaurant. The grants will also benefit two other Milford projects: the restoration and reuse of the former Lou's Bootery building; and transforming a former roller rink into professional offices.
